Chatterbox

Like we always do, if we're home in the mornings, Nathan and I watched Barney. The kids on the show were complaining about crappy weather until Barney sang a song that made everyone forget all about bad weather. If all of the snowflakes were candy bars and milk shakes, oh what a snow that would be. I took Barney's message to heart and decided that Nathan and I could bundle up and have fun even in 11 degree temperatures. That lasted about five minutes before we were back inside playing with cars. We spent more time bundling up than we did playing outside. Nathan's newest phrase when we walk outside is, "I told (cold)."

Let me just tell you, this stuff is not candy bars or milkshakes. I've been known to refer to it as something else, not so nice.
This afternoon, Nathan video chatted with PawPaw. He actually wouldn't let PawPaw hang up. They talked for 20 minutes. Nathan could have gone longer if PawPaw would have let him. Nathan has figured out how to extend conversations or visits. Each time PawPaw tried to say bye to Nathan, Nathan would immediately ask to see the Peyton Manning or Michael Vick bobbles. Of course, PawPaw couldn't resist. At home, he's gotten to where he likes to trap me in the tent when he senses me leaving. Or, he'll immediately need some juice when I'm about to walk out the door, etc. Nathan also showed off his vast knowledge of exotic animals. He told PawPaw all about whooping cranes, blue herons, boa constrictors, sea lions, prairie dogs, macaroni penguins, as well as many, many more weird animals that you wouldn't expect for an almost two year old to know. He knows every animal in all four
Brown Bear and Friends books...if that gives you any idea of how many times a day I have read those four books for the past several months. PawPaw just laughed and laughed. Nathan also showed him his favorite car, as well as Lady's and Uncle Joe's favorites. It was so funny to watch as Nathan just chatted away like PawPaw was right there with him.
Nathan has another favorite book. You might have heard of it, it's called The Bible. We read that book at least five times a day. It's the extremely condensed version with about 12 shortened, rhyming stories. He woke up from his nap this afternoon and didn't want out of his crib. He wanted to look through his Bible for a little while before he got up. One of his favorites is the story of "Jesus, bread and fif (fish)."
